Mixed Media Blog Hop

Welcome to the Mixed Media Blog Hop. We wanted to keep this hop small for the fact that it is mixed media and just starting to make a bigger wave in the crafting world, especially to us paper crafters.

For those who may not know what it is: Mixed media uses things like -
  • Paints
  • Gesso
  • Gel Mediums
  • Molding Paste
But it is a simple as using glimmer mist on a tag or using game pieces and alcohol inks.Everyones take on it is different and I hope you enjoy all the creations and GOOD LUCK to the winner!!  You should have hopped over after spending time with Paula

For my  project today I started off with a pop can, cardboard purse, and a couple of napkins.  I will give you a quick warning now, I have allot of pictures on this post :)

I my flower punch on the pop can and made some flowers, I only needed one but I am going to give away a set of them as part of my candy ;)
Here is a pic of the flowers.  WARNING to make these flowers you need to rinse out your soda can with water and use a sharp knife or scissors to cut open the can.  If you don't use a sharp knife or scissors the can doesn't cut really smooth and you will prob cut yourself in the process (yes I am speaking from experience lol )
Once you punch them out take a toothpick or end of a paintbrush, I used a quilling tool and curl the edges of the flower.  You can ink them to match your project, just use alcohol based inks.

Well onto the project here is the little clutch I made
I covered the clutch with the napkins and Modge Podge added some ribbon, feathers, and bling to make give our little cardboard purse a whole new life :)

Open view, I used the napkin on the inside too so it would match, the clasp is a small magnet, it will stick to the magnet on the inside part of the ribbon.

Well I hope you like my project.  For my blog candy I have a set of the flowers I made.  Just leave a comment.  I will pick a winner on Tues.  I am in another hop this Sat and Sun. so please come back and see more creations and even more candy.
