Rebecca's Baby Shower Blog Hop Day 2

 

Welcome back to the second day of Rebecca's baby shower hop.  Today I have a couple of things to share.  First if you waddled on over from Anita's blog then you are waddling in the right direction.  If you just happened to stop by for a peek and didn't know about the hop, please feel free to wade on over to Lisa's blog ( our soon to be Grandma) and check out both days of the hop.  

Today I only made a one page LO for Maxwell ( the new additions beautiful name) I hope Lisa and Rebecca really like it.  I figured she could put a pic of him sleeping  on it.  

I picked up this cute premade page at Michael's, I thought it would be cute to have in his scrapbook.

 I was so excited today though when on our way up north to our cabin we stopped at a little scrap shop along the way and I found these cute papers!!!  I am going to send them to Lisa for her to create with, I am bummed I didn't find them sooner.  So here is Lisa's blog candy....or homework should I say hehehehe

Papers and stickers, the stickers aren't as big as they look.  They are in 3 different sizes from 1inch to about 3.5inches.  Hope she likes them.

Rebecca's Baby Shower Blog Hop DAY 1

 

Welcome to Lisa’s daughter, Rebecca’s, Baby Shower! What a great idea to have a baby shower between your blogging friends. Lisa has asked that we make a two-page layout which she will present to her daughter. Rebecca is having a boy and her son’s name will be Maxwell Thaddeus. If you just happened to visit me today or happened upon my blog, I don’t want you to miss a single present for the baby shower and would want you to begin at the very beginning which is the proud soon-to-be-Grandma, Lisa. For my project I made a LO with rubber duckies.  Lisa told us that the theme of the baby shower is Rubber Ducks so I wanted to do a LO with that theme.  I added some charms and ribbon just to bring in even more of the duckies.  I hope she likes it. 

 

 

For my blog candy I am giving away a bunch of goodies that are all BLUEI realize that not all of us have a need for baby things so I decided that blue goodies is the next best thing, if I wanted to stick to the theme :)   I will post a pic tomorrow because my camera isn't cooperating tonight.  I have paper, twine, glimmer mist, and brads.....just to tempt you to come take a peek tomorrow, hehehe. Here is the finished Journal

Here is a little video with the completed journal.  As you can see I made some major changes, but I think it turned out great. 

I do have to let you all know the person I swapped with requested Red, White, and Black.  She also loved Zebra prints, Zebras, and Greyhound Dogs so that is why I designed it this way.

Snow Days Blog Hop Day 2

Hello and Welcome back!!!  I hope you all hopped along with us yesterday, if not you can just go through both days now and check out all the wonderful creations.

I live in Michigan and we usually have had a couple of snow days by now for the kids at school.  This year it is strange because we are only hitting the 40s to late 30s when it comes to temps lately....not normal for MI.  But as they say, if you don't like the weather here wait 5 min and it will prob change :)

So my project for today is a journal I made for a swap.  I loved that my partner wanted red, black, and white.  I have never done those before so I thought it would be fun.  I don't want to give to much of it away because I still want her to be surprised but these journals are quite fun and easy to make!!!
I love a project that no matter what you do you cant go wrong :)  So enough babbling here it is:

So I had a flower in the middle there but it fell off so I am rethinking what should go there, any suggestions?   I am thinking feathers, I have been on a feather kick for quite some time now hehehe

 Here is the inside cover, I used a page cover for a smaller album so she could have a pocket in the front.  I have a few of them in there.

 Just some decorative pages, these hold tags she can write on.

And here is just some little embellishments I added along the way, I also stamped some sentiments because she wants to use it mostly for journaling and not so much pics.  I hope you like my project.

For the hop today, I've created a 2 page LO.  I had the misfortune of losing my computer and I am a SCAL kinda girl so I had to go out of my comfort zone of paper piecing.  I wanted to still take part in the hop and keep my crafty groove going so I made this LO.  I think it turned out pretty cute considering too.  So please let me know what you think.

Also is you have a cutter you love let me know which one, looking for camera ideas too :)  Thanks for the help.

Happy New Year!

Well I hope everyone has had a Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year.  I have to apologize for not posting sooner but I have had the terrible misfortune of having my computer crash!  Yes CRASH!  Friends if you are a SCAL or MTC user like I am PLEASE remember to back up your files, it felt like my whole life was on the dang computer and there is nothing I can do about it.  I have sent it to get repaired, switched out hard drives and spent hundreds of dollars hoping it will be safe.  They tell me the data is all there it just needs to be sent to a data recovery specialist to get recovered.  That is like 1200 to 1500 dollars, so its not gonna happen.

So please learn from my bad, bad, bad, stressful mistake and back up those files, AND software.  SCAL2 is no longer able to download and it is now SCAL 3 which does not cut on my Cricut so on top of it all I have to buy a new cutting device.  :)  I only have 2 cartridges because I never used the Cricut like it was intended lol.

Well here is to hoping for a much better, backed up and saved 2012 :)
